What are your ideal browline glasses?

browline glasses

Browline glasses are glasses that have a thin metallic frame; often, the upper part of the frame (this is the only place where the frame is attached) resembles eyebrows and thus the name. The first set of browline glasses was manufactured in the 50s by the Ronsir brand and was worn by eloquent women who held positions in office. During this period, women were confined to their homes; those who held jobs were considered powerful and smart and often wore these glasses to make a statement. Later, they evolved into female nerd glasses and became fashion accessories.

Suitable faces for browline glasses

When selecting eyeglasses, it is important to go for the type that suits the shape of your face. Generally, browline glasses are ideal for individuals with the narrow forehead as they create an illusion and present their faces as rounded and balanced. However, with advancements in designs, you can always find a type of browline glass that suits any time of face. While at it, it would be prudent to consider several aspects such as;

Oval faces

Individuals with oval faces are always advantaged; they enjoy all cool glasses in different shapes and sizes. Browline glasses, in particular, are a perfect set for people with this type of face, as they highlight their facial features, making them stand out. These glasses come in different colors and thus are inclusive of all skin tones. The bold rim makes the upper section of the face stand out. This is why most people wear browline glasses to make a statement and complement their outfits.

Oblong faces

Oblong faces are also referred to as long faces. Most individuals confuse oblong faces and oval faces; for people with oblong faces, their chin and forehead are long. The jaw, cheeks, and forehead are also the same width, which is not the case for people with oval faces. Regarding eyeglasses, browline glasses are a savior for this category of people; they help create an illusion of a wider and square face. Browline glasses improve the proportionality of the face. The thick upper part and thin frames of browline glasses help highlight the cheekbone and the jawline for individuals with oblong faces. The glasses come in different colors and frames and thus can be used as prescriptions or fashion accessories.

Square faces

Square faces can be likened to round faces; however, the features are more defined in these individuals. People with square faces enjoy the privileges of wearing cool glasses as either prescriptions or accessories because their cheekbones, jaws, and forehead are of the same width. These faces are proportional and thus do not have to struggle with selecting eyeglasses that can create an illusion of proportional faces. In these individuals, browline glasses bring an intellectual look and, at times, counter the prevalent facial features. Wearing dark-colored or browline glasses with unique prints would create an impression and grab everyone’s attention.

Diamond face

Nobody speaks about individuals with this type of face; often, they are assumed to fall into the other categories of face types. People with this type of face have tampering chins, long foreheads that are narrow and high cheekbones. The face contours are prominent at the cheekbones and fade out down the face; this often makes the chin appear thin and sharp. Because the forehead is too narrow in this type of face, browline eyeglasses try to create proportionality and even out the forehead. However, it is important to note that going for big browline glasses can appear as bulky and overcrowd the features of diamond faces. Thus it is always advisable to go for regular-sized browline glasses.
